This is incredible! I'm trying to go as fem soldier and I cant find a costume anywhere! I love how well yours is done! would you perchance know where I could get one? (I know yours was made. do you know anyone who could make it within reasonable monetary boundaries?)
The helmet is a canadian M1 helmet bought in a military surplus. The shell was painted blue, and a few monts later, a hole was cut into it. A wooden mortar round made by my father, with the help of a lathe, was then drilled into the plastic liner helmet.
The jacket was made by my very talented neighbor, who do not really take international orders. I would recommend talking with your friends, family and relatives to see if they know a talented person who can make what you want. I printed many references of the soldier's jacket (front, sides, and back) along with drawings showing specifications. During the making of the jacket, me and my neighbor stayed in touch regularly, whenever she had questions or measurements to ask.
This website has a great selection of references for the jacket: [link]
Oh, and also, here is where you can buy some pre-made class patches. They are quality ones, and I recommend them. Don't forget to specify the class AND color when you order: [link]
The pants are dark blue work pants, and the boots, belt and bandolier were purchased at the same military surplus store. The bandolier was a belt modified to be made into a bandolier. The grenades are wooden, and are drilled into it. If you can, try and find a lighter material, wood is a bit heavy, as I found out after a entire Otakuthon day.
