After the Krauts and the Tommies, meet the Poilus. Before you ask, I did use a reference (not for the faces, obviously). I'm not that good yet, sorry. So yes, what to say about this piece. It took me only 3 days, that's a lot of improvement since the last two ones took weeks. I did not get lazy this time. I wanted to do another kind of group picture (two ranks of soldiers became a boring idea.) I don't think I'll make other WW1 groups now, let that serie die on a high note. Allons ! As always nice job, I can't get enough of the shading!
The problem to me, however, is that they don't, excluding the fellow in the hat and the guy with a missing tooth above him, strike me as blatantly French-looking.
